The Goodwood racecourse
The course is located near Chichester, in West Sussex. It is controlled by the Duke of Richmond's family, whose seat is the Goodwood House located near the racecourse.
The distance run on the course is 2 miles, on a turf surface. The track is left and right handed, and horses aged 3 years and more can participate.
The track is a challenging one for young horses, with a 6 furlong straight, a right handed loop, and a series of undulations and sharp bends.
The distances comprising the racecourse have been named after the persons who took part in its development.
Three of the Group 1 flat races for the UK are held on the course: the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup, the Nassau Stakes, in the frames of the annual festival called Glorious Goodwood. The festival is held on the Goodwood course in the end of July and the beginning of August. It is one of the prime flat racing events.
The Qatar sponsorship of Goodwood Festival
The Qatar sponsorship started in 2014, when a deal was signed for a 10-year period. Thus in excess of £2 million were invested in the eight prime races taking place in the five days of the festival.
Glorious Goodwood 2017

- the upgrading of the Goodwood Cup to Group 1 and moving it to the first day

Ante post betting on Glorious Goodwood races
Ante post bets are bets made until the day preceding the race day, 24 hours prior to the race itself.
You can choose your selection or selections and make your bets on horses to run in the Glorious Goodwood races.
This type of betting online carries higher risks, because it is made over a long period, but on the other hand it can yield higher returns if your bet turns out to be successful.
Note that you must be careful when choosing, especially if the horse you have selected is not going to run with certainty at the specific time. Then you had better wait until the final declaration about the horse is made. The odds then will be shorter, but your bet will be safer.
